CAW reacts to turbine complaints — says it doesn’t engage protest groups. How IRONIC!

The Dock — April 14, 2013

The CAW says it is aware of and is handling the health related complaints pouring in from neighbours of the wind turbine on its property in Port Elgin.

As we told you yesterday… the protest group STOP has collected more than a dozen formal complaints …everything from nose bleeds and headaches to night sweats and insomnia.

STOP says the turbine was shut off just hours after the complaints… and has been off for the past three days.

However CAW national co ordinator Ken Bondy tells Dock News that’s just part of the usual start up…and is not related to the complaints…which he says they are dealing with…as required by the province…

Bondy

Bondy denies they’ve shut it down based on the complaints..

Bondy

STOP wants all sides to sit down and fix the problem.

Bondy says they don’t engage protest groups but insists they’re doing everything they’re supposed to … in order to comply with regulations..

Bondy

The problem with the turbine is that its much closer to homes than is currently allowed under provincial legislation because it was approved BEFORE the green energy act came into effect.
