A Pushback on Green Power

Tip o’ the hat to Callous Wind for the find

Diane Cardwell — New York Times — May 28, 2014

As renewable energy production has surged in recent years, opponents of government policies that have helped spur its growth have pushed to roll back those incentives and mandates in state after state.

On Wednesday, they claimed their first victory, when Ohio lawmakers voted to freeze the phasing-in of power that utilities must buy from renewable energy sources.

The bill, which passed the Ohio House of Representatives, 54 to 38, was expected to be signed into law by Gov. John R. Kasich, who helped negotiate its final draft.

Opponents of the mandates argued, in part, that wind and solar power, whose costs have plunged in recent years, should compete on their own with traditional fossil fuels. Hope many people take this opportunity to write the author of the NY Times piece to let her know about the reality of the wind scam in rural America, and that those of us fighting the wind mess are NOT being supported by the Koch Brothers – or anybody else, for that matter. We fight the wind scam because it is a complete waste of our money, a blight on our environment, an assault on the very people who are being forced to support this scam with their taxpayer & ratepayer dollars, the theft of the peace & quiet enjoyment of peoples’ private properties, and is doing absolutely NOTHING to abate “Global Warming” to boot. It’s long past time for the insanity to STOP!
